Yes, by the Kilties of all things! That really was a low blow. But Don Warren told me later that he thought we were off that night. I can't remember the follow-up, but I don't think the Kilties beat us again.
I don't know what happened to the Royals. They dropped like a rock. After winning in 1965 with a fabulous corps and fabulous performance at McCormack Place, they dropped off the radar screen, not appearing in the top 3 corps in 1966 or in 1967. I don't know when they actually folded.
