OK, Paul,
I was getting down right depressed reading your take on the early 80's. Somehow, I always look back on 81 and 82 as being good years in my life, not necessarily the best years for the corps in a relative sense. Then again, I always considered myself fortunate to be part of the Cavaliers because I joined the season after the first tour both years. I know that because they were down years is the only reason I was fortunate to be able to march like that. Of course you are right about the young age of the corps. I remember being one of the oldest new guys at 20 in 81. Kevin Nash always wanted me to shine his shoes that year. Never really said out loud what I was thinking at the time.

In any case, I just wanted to let you know that whenever I hear "Rainbow", I tear up, also. By the way, I always liked hearing the Skyryders play it. I wish we played it instead, but i always loved singing it with you and the other Cavaliers. I love the medley with the corps song and rainbow, I wish we had gotten a chance to play it.

Splooie,

Pat
FMM 81-82
