Hi everyone,This is just a "heads up" that I will be planning the 2nd Annual Cavalier Alumni Golf Outing this year in Orlando. In keeping with tradition, the outing will coincide with the DCI Championships so anyone who attends DCI can escape the riggers of Drum Corp life and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow FMM's in a non-drum corp setting. I am sure everyone who attended the 1st Annual Outing last year in Madison will agree that it was a great success.
I'd like to plan this years outing in the morning (not TOO early!) of Friday August 8th. This will give me time to sober up from the night before and give everyone else time to warm up on the practice range trying to alleviate the number of "you suck" comments on the first tee. Actually, it's going to happen anyway so just deal with it. But it will also planned not too late so to give everyone an opportunity to do the three S's before Semi-finals.
Please E-Mail me at vball0361@aol.com your E-Mail address and phone number(s) if you are interested and I will add you to the list for future communications. EVERYONE is invited including wives, girlfriends and/or significant others. The only restriction will be that if you are not a FMM that you are somehow associated with a FMM. References will be checked.
I will take requests if you wish to be paired with someone but please make sure that that person WANTS to play with you in the first place. Husband/wife pairings will have to be settled BEFORE the first tee! : )
This outing is meant to be a CASUAL round of golf so that everyone attending can enjoy themselves. If you are a serious golfer and are looking to play a serious round, I have two suggestions:
1)bypass the event all together and play somewhere else
2)just suck it up, have a few Bloody Mary's and enjoy the golf skills of others. (or lack there of)
Beware: Chris Hartowitz has NO idea where is ball is going after he hits it.
I will choose a golf course that is friendly for all levels of play. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
Note: It probably goes without saying but please keep in mind that this is NOT an outing officially sponsored by the corp itself. Again, we are trying to keep this thing casual.
Obviously there will be more to come. Please let me know via E-Mail if you have any comments, suggestions or questions. Complaints... don't bother. It would be like complaining to Don Warren. "Oh, just shut up and pay your dues!" :)
Splooie!
CABA: Like last year, you may want to copy this to the next newsletter so that anyone who is not "web enabled" can see this.
