Dan....the trees, the trees are falling.

I'm still around, as Curt said. No snow where I'm at, so this winter stinks. I'm glad it was at least cold.

So, my plan was to audition for the corps, and I did. Wow, what an experience. It was truly humbling to see the talent that's out there. Unfortunately, I didn't make the cut (inexperience doesn't bode well for me, apparently). I did make a few friends at the camp that did, though, and for that I'm very pleased.

Afterwards, I about auditioning for Madison Scouts, but that plan fell by the wayside...and for good reason. [cue violins] I set out for my dream, which was to make the Cavaliers. It was important to me 'cause this would be my age out year, and therefore my only chance to make it. When that didn't happen, I thought about marching elsewhere. But, after sitting on it for awhile, I realized that my where my heart lies is in the Cavaliers. Even if it meant giving up my only chance to march drum corps, I wasn't going to make more sacrifices to be somewhere that I didn't really want to be. It just doesn't make any sense. [shoot violinists]

That said, I can finally move on with my life, and apply for better positions at the hospital where I'm working at now. I was approved for a personal leave for the summer in the case that I did make the corps (damn shame, too. It took a few phone calls and *scoff* bribery to get through to the department head.) I didn't want to lose that by transeferring into another department. But, now I can without giving a second thought. Many goals left to accomplish, and so little time to get them done.

Now that you've got an earful, let's hear what you have been up to, eh?

le sange est sur le branche,
D
