Alright, I'll get the ball rollin' on this. I've always thought that Cincy would be a great place for Drum Corps. Why? Because obviously football and baseball aren't working, so why not try drum corps. Seriously though, The Bengals had a new stadium built only a few years ago, and it is a great venue to play in. As far as the geographics go, the stadium lies right on the Ohio river, so you can jump on a paddle boat and come down from Pittsburg, or if you're coming from the Mississippi, just go up-stream on the Ohio. Ohio is the heartland of the mid-west: it isn't too far away from the east coast, and is just a short trip on I-70 if you're coming from the more western region of the midwest. Practice facilities would be very accessible. Since Cincy is in the tri-state, you'd have 3 states to choose from. Plenty of large colleges and high schools to take advantage of. Lexington and Indianapolis are only about an 1 1/2 away, so those cities could be used also. I-71 and I- 75 run right into the city, and parking around the stadium is not a problem. The Reds and Bengals stadiums are right next to each other, so there is enough parking for millions and millions. Other bonuses of having DCI finals in Cincy include:
-Marge Schoot and Pete Rose hosting the broadcast.
-Cincinnati-Style chili is a rare delicacy.
-The Bengals aren't big enough or ballsy enough to run over our corps, or any other corps.
-The race riots should be at a slow simmer by the time finals would be around.
-Freedays in Cincy have always amounted to...eventful..to say the least, I'm sure finals would too.
-The city could be credited to creating two of the baddest mamma jammas to ever wear the green.
