well Paulyou have put it up for psoterity... we have really got to figure out a way to get these posts archived into the history section (along withthe replies which are equally as priceless).
I was marching in Marion at the time. We got drowned inthe rain that morning and hung around. After seeing you guys in So Mil early on and the improvement I was blown away.
Prelims was an awesome show but the night was what burned in my memory. In 75 I graduated hgh school and told my dad I wanted out of OHio. he encouraged me to call moxley at BD or Sloan at Kilts or the guys I knew from Madison... then he looked at me and said "where do you think you want to go?"
I remembered those funky little rolls you guys did in the drum solo that year and the glint of the chrome with the green cavalier onthe front of the snares and got chills from 9 months earlier thinking of the electricity that followed as all hell broke loose when Carmen came off the line. You guys sold me that night . In spite of the connections I had at other corps and the close friends that were headed west I knew where my place was. I got hold of Danny Heeres at the hall and got directions from the downtown Greyhound station to SOuth Park... see ya wednesday... Gawd were you guys golden that evening.
PS ...thanks for finally getting up the speech content. I have been trying to find someone to clarify the stoyr for months.
