Okay, I have it...the first DCI staged completely on floating logs...yes, you guessed it, Hayward, Wisconsin's Lumberjack Bowl. Plenty of parking, cause no on lives there, plenty of timber for both logs and whittling some extra rifles (I bet Warrren still winces at the cost every time one breaks)...acoustics phenomenal. Starry night, no jets flying over, snapping turtles waiting for someone to miss their set, huge cheesehead audience. Housing would be in Teepees provided by the Chippewa Band of the Ojibwa nation, and closing ceremonies would include a Pow-Wow that would put the Olympics to shame. Most corps would fight over "Water Music" as their program, but "On Golden Pond" and "Pirates of Lake Mendota" would be sought after as well. Think of the water ballet possibilities! The uniform crew would love it because washing the uniforms would be automatic! It's a winner!
