TRADITION...shoes, smiles & hats

Last night, in Charlotte, after a tremendous standstill performance by the Cavaliers' brass and percussion sections (the guard was in the stands cheering them on!), three new members of the brass section continued the "Carolina Event" tradition with shoes, smiles and a few 'extra-large' cowboy hats and a sombrero....however, at least one young man was without a "head cover" - depending on your interpretation.Needless to say the event was a hit with those who noticed (these guys were fast!)....a policeman appeared (AGAIN) and there was some dodging and hiding behind the Blue Devil pit. Unfortunately, the Blue Devils must believe we do this all the time (they happened to be there last year when we accidentally interrupted their guard's meeting - a few of the girls said it was the highlight of the evening).....all in all, the tradition was upheld, none of these guys will be hung - ahem - by the management (this isn't Mt. Rushmore Don) and the names of these three brave new members will be added to the ever-lengthening list of proud Cavalier runners.
Speaking of lengthening lists.....it started in 1991 with Doug Fry and Joe Uhl in Winston-Salem (Linda Bouma never forgets that she thought they were wearing white shorts they were so tanned)....we need more years and names and places....we know Baton Rouge (closest we got to the Carolinas in 1998 with Nick Kieth and Nathan Visak), as well as Murfreesboro in 2001 (remember the big foamy hats?)...can you guys help us with the years and names and places?
TRADITION continues.......
