Just adding to the rain question. Twice in my three years of drum corps was a finals week event delayed or modified. In 1994, Quarterfinals was cancelled with about four corps left. We were scheduled to go on third from last. SCV fourth from last. They packed up their stuff and headed out. But, and this is hearsay, Jeff apparently had some choice words for the grounds crew telling them "we came to play." So with the stands half empty, we took the field. Not to march, but to play a standstill. I remember those who remained in the stands going nuts as we took the field (remember, they were told the show was over). Then we started playing. We warmed up with some of the power chord progressions we played all year and we played them loud. (Possibly the loudest I ever played in drum corps - with the exception of the victory run after winning finals in 1995). It was great. That was at Foxboro Stadium outside of Boston.
The second time was at the Citrus Bowl in 1996 - my age out year. Either quarters or semis was delayed because someone thought they saw lightning. Whatever. Get on the field....hee hee. Anyway, there is some history for ya....
