Amen, Jeff. I've never served myself, but have had the privilege of telling the stories of many veterans, from an elderly gentleman who was just 19 when the bombs began falling on his head at Hickham Air Base to a young man (also 19), who recalled in our interview what it was like to kill another human being during Operation Desert Storm.
Today, one of my sons-in-law is a Marine stationed in the Carolinas, recently assigned as a MP after the corps canceled his orders to Iraq (don't know why, but thank God).
These men (and women) and those before tham deserve our every respect.
