I too have received the "Dr." or "Fred" speech, but I just cannot call Dr. Olin by his first name... it was hard enough for me to call Jud Merritt "Jud" a month or so ago when I met him, after being told numerous times not to call him "Mr. Merritt". It was a bit easier because he had marched with my boyfriend and was closer to my age, but it's just a respect thing I guess- I'm not sure I'll ever be able to call Dr. Olin by his first name.
