Yesterday I received something that I will add to my most cherished Cavalier items.
It is a flag used by the corps and know as the "pickle" flag.

I had been in search of one of these for years because it was imbedded in my memory as part of the first time I ever saw the Cavaliers, which was on the PBS broadcast. I also remember watching it with my mother who has since passed and shared my love of music, then eventually the Cavaliers.

Well, I was going through some of my videos last night and in a box all by itself was the "Through the Years" of the Cavaliers, Volume 1. So I had to put it in to look for the "pickle" flag. The tape was already set on the first year the flag was used and I continued on for 3 more shows.

Now, aside from the fun of watching those shows, I thought to myself that it would be kinda fun for another of the shows to make the theater viewing offered by DCI so more young people could see a "Where are they now?" segment of Jeff Fiedler, but his would have been a "Look At You Go!" segment. Even though I already knew this fact, I just think it's fun to find out about people's past experiences of the activity...especially DCI Board members and Directors of corps. (Like George Hopkins was a snare for Crossmen, who would have thought?)

Anyway, just had to share a little memory moment and I look forward to experiencing many more memories with this organization that has welcomed me into it's family, or at least that's how I feel.

See y'all soon...
