Here is a sample aria from Dr.Atomic:

The baritone in this clip is Gerald Finley. His gestures weren't as exaggerated in the Met simulcast as it is here, but his voice was just as magnificent.

The aria doesn't seem quite so powerful when taken out of context, but the suject matter would make for an incredible drum corps show. As the name would indicate, Dr.Atomic is about the creation of the atom bomb, with it's chief architect (J.Robert Oppenheimer) at the center of the drama. John Adams, the composer, is one of the best opera composers America has produced (Bernstein doesn't count - he did musicals).

While on the subject of show suggestions - since it seems to be an annual occurence on the forum, perhaps the corps should consider having a 'concept campaign' every Fall for fans to give their input as to what they would like to see?

My apologies if this is already a part of the fan network (of which, I am ashamed to admit, I am not a member). The fan pool seems like a great source from which to draw inspiration, not to mention the immense honor it would be for the one whose suggestion is selected.

Just a thought. Enjoy the clip!
