Cavaliers Fan of the Week: Andrew Poland

Every Friday, The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps will be featuring a Fan of the Week for our new Fan Fridays effort! Young, old, far and wide - our incredible fans are at the center why we do what we do! This week, let's meet Andrew Poland!
1. Please state your name, age and hometown (and Twitter handle, if you have one).
2. How long have you been a Fan of The Cavaliers?
I have been a fan since my freshman year of high school, so since '07-'08.
3. What is your favorite Cavalier program and why?
My favorite Cavalier program would have to be the 2006 show, 'Machine.' Although I didn't see this show in person, this was the show that made me fall in love with DCI. I saw this show on YouTube before I ever had a clue about what DCI was. It was only a video, but it blew my mind. I was absolutely amazed.
4. What music/show would you like to see The Cavaliers perform?
I'd like to see a show about war. The Cavaliers are extremely creative, so I know they could come up with some really intense and emotional scenes. With all the sound effects and visuals, I know they would leave the audience members speechless and many of them in tears.
5. Are you making it to a drum corps show this summer? If so, which one(s)?
I went to DCI St. Louis and DCI Arkansas, but unfortunately that's all. I won't be able to make it to finals this summer. I'm super bummed about that.
6. What do The Cavaliers mean to you?
The Cavaliers have always been, and will always be, my favorite corps - so they mean a lot to me. Like I said earlier, 'Machine' was the show that made me fall in love with DCI. It was the first DCI show I had ever seen. Since then, I've been addicted! The Cavaliers have inspired me to become a better percussionist and a better musician. Everything that they do takes so much passion and dedication. That being said, I look up to every single Cavalier member and alumnus.I wish The Cavaliers the best of luck this season and every season to come! I know you guys will do great. You have inspired me along with many other people around the world to work hard and be the best they can be. As long as you keep doing that, you will always be number 1!
