Fan of the Week: Abraham Moreno

Friday, June 1st, 2012 - 10:35 AM
By Dan Minkel

Every Friday, The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps will be featuring a Fan of the Week for our Fan Fridays effort! Young, old, far and wide - our incredible fans are at the center why we do what we do! This week, let's meet Abraham Moreno!

1. Please state your name, age and hometown (and Twitter handle, if you have one).

My name is Abraham "AB" Moreno. I am 21 years old and I'm from the Rio Grande Valley in Mission, Texas. My twitter name is @allstater09. I'm also an alumni of Genesis!

2. How long have you been a Fan of The Cavaliers?

I have been a Cavalier Fan since 2004, when The Cavaliers performed '007'(my first drum corp experience)! Though my interest in the corps didn't stop there - I really enjoy their innovative ideas to revolutionize the marching arts!

3. What is your favorite Cavalier program and why?

My all time favorite Cavalier program would no doubt be Frameworks! That show changed the way I look at music. It starts off with simple rhythmic ideas and integrates them and builds them through the performance! It's just an amazing show! I've even created several drill replicas on Micro Marching League!

4. What music/show would you like to see The Cavaliers perform?

A repertoire that I've always wanted the Cavaliers to do is something dealing with "Fame". I'm a young musician trying to get into the music industry and knowing what fame can do to people is intense. I couldn't have imagined a corps doing something similar to that idea. So The Cavaliers doing "15 Minutes of Fame" will hit me right at home!

5. Are you making it to a drum corps show this summer? If so, which one(s)?

I will be making the drive up to The Southwestern Championships in San Antonio, Texas this summer along with a car full of friends! We will be extraordinarily dressed in several corps uniforms!

6. What do The Cavaliers mean to you?

The Cavaliers to me means perfection! Ever since I've started learning more and more about every corps, The Cavaliers have never ceased to amaze me in every aspect! The way they work, the time they put into planning everything on the field and off - it shows how The Cavaliers are driven by young adult men that are dedicated to pushing the envelope and exceeding expectations among the rest!

Abraham - Thanks for letting us get to know you just a little better during Fan Fridays!

CAVALIER NATION: If YOU would like to be featured on a future Fan Friday, look for a post on our official Facebook and Twitter fan pages!
