GearWORKS: 2012 Fall Chop Sessions

The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps and Green Thunder Percussion (GTP) are proud to announce the GearWORKS: 2012 Fall Chop Sessions set for Sunday, September 16, and Sunday, September 30, at Rosemont Elementary School in Rosemont, Ill!

These intensive prep sessions are geared towards students looking to continue developing their individual skills throughout the fall, in preparation for drum corps and winter drum line auditions. Sessions will focus specifically on marching snare, tenor, bass drum and keyboard technique, with all instruction and instruments provided by GTP and The Cavaliers.

GearWORKS: Fall Chop Sessions are open to ALL percussion students, both male and female, in the Chicago area.

Green Thunder Percussion (GTP) is an Independent Open Class marching percussion ensemble participating in the Winter Guard International (WGI) circuit. GTP is open to young men in the Chicago area, and concurrently serves as an ideal preparation resource for those interested in auditioning for The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. Through performance opportunities in competitive and non-competitive environments across the Midwest, Green Thunder Percussion provides a percussion outlet for advanced players under the instruction of some of the most talented and skilled percussive educators in the nation.

About The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps

Founded in 1948, The Cavaliers are one of the most successful drum and bugle corps in history, winning 20 national championships, including seven Drum Corps International world championships since 1992. Each summer, 150 male brass, percussion and color guard performers aged 16-22 present a marching music show considered among the most challenging and original in the world.

The group performs at more than 30 competitions across the US and for more than 100,000 fans. Along the way, the young men not only learn about music and performing, but have a life-changing experience based on excellence, teamwork and camaraderie.
