After its highest placement and score in history last season, Green Thunder Percussion (GTP), the Independent Open Class percussion ensemble presented by The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps, is pleased to present its 2013 production, rEvolution.

A rEvolution (from the Latin word revolutio, a turn around) is a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time. Drawing from both the continuous sociopolitical changes that occur, as well as the orbital path, or revolution, of an object around another, GTP looks to take the audience on a ride that will change it all.
This year's 34-member cast (20 drum line; 14 front ensemble) consists of young performers from the Chicagoland area, southern Illinois, and northwest Indiana. The 2013 edition of Green Thunder features 22 returning members, which is the largest veteran presence in GTP's history.
Green Thunder is also proud to announce the addition of Alan Miller to the design team as composer and arranger for the group's sixth competitive season in 2013. Miller is currently the staff coordinator and a percussion composer/arranger for The Cavaliers, and he will be joining Pete Weber and Lloyd Puckitt on GTP's creative team.
"We are extremely honored to have Alan on board this year, and we can not wait to bring his music to life as the 'rEvolution' begins," said Green Thunder Percussion director, Joe Roach.
The instruction staff includes Brian Spicer, Billy Spicer, Lloyd Puckitt, and Paul Wiercioch, with newcomers Justin Brenneman, Tim Strenning, Dan Russie, Andy Rhebergen, Dan Flynn and the 2013 Cavalier drum sergeants, Jesse Backes and Erick Eckstrom.
"Green Thunder Percussion was originally started to encourage local talent to pursue The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps," added Roach. "Since its inception, GTP has graduated 10 members into The Cavaliers, including the 2013 drum sergeants. Even more GTP members and alumni have gone on to march in DCI and WGI world class groups!"
Green Thunder is under the direction of Joe Roach and management of Paul Wiercioch. Adminstrative support from Sue Flynn; Exec. VP of The Cavaliers, Dave Flynn; and Scott Rhebergen.
GTP would like to thank its strategic partners and suppliers, including Innovative Percussion, Yamaha, Remo, Zildjian, Fred J. Miller, Inc., and McCormicks.
