Cavalier Alumni Celebration of Life
Tuesday, February 19th, 2013 - 7:09 PM
By Christopher Lugo
Since 1948, The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps has impacted thousands of individuals from all walks of life. The organization has lost many incredible alumni over the years, and with the help of Classic Cavaliers director David Patek and alumnus Tim Morrison, The Cavaliers will pay humble tribute to those who have passed away, including the recent loss of John L. Opager, Jr and original 1948 Cavalier Bob Whitelaw.
The Cavalier Alumni Celebration of Life will be an opportunity to honor the memory of those lost with a simple gathering to celebrate the lives and friendships of our fallen Cavaliers.
Please join us on Saturday, February 23, for this special event honoring our late Cavalier alumni friends.

About Classic Cavaliers
The Classic Cavaliers is a fund raising performance ensemble, mainly consisting of alumni of The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. It was established in 2006 to prepare for The Cavaliers 60th Anniversary performance at the Drum Corps International (DCI) World Championship in 2008. The Classics have continued to raise funds for The Cavaliers through stand-still performances and parades in the Chicago-land area.
About The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps
Founded in 1948, The Cavaliers are one of the most successful drum and bugle corps in history, winning 20 national championships, including seven Drum Corps International world championships since 1992. Each summer, 150 male brass, percussion and color guard performers aged 16-22 present a marching music show considered among the most challenging and original in the world.
The group performs at more than 30 competitions across the US and for more than 100,000 fans. Along the way, the young men not only learn about music and performing, but have a life-changing experience based on excellence, teamwork and camaraderie.
The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization sponsored by The Village of Rosemont, Illinois.
