The 2008 season, our 60th season, will be very exciting and rewarding for the current marching members. These young men have worked hard to get to this point, but they will work harder than ever to achieve such a high level of performance. They will be instructed by an incredible staff and learn a lot, not only musically, but they will learn how to work together; how to become leaders, teammates, and friends.

What does this have to do with volunteering? I'm the mother of one of those current marching members, and the Volunteer Coordinator for The Cavaliers. The Cavaliers have a proud tradition of support from family, alumni, and fans. Without this support, The Cavaliers would not be able to provide the experience and education for which we are renowned. How can you help? Listed below are many ways to help.

I hope that you'll take a look at your schedule and see where you can fit The Cavaliers. Please consider coming on tour, but if that just won't work for you, come out for a day and help. Help us continue the support that has made The Cavaliers the championship organization it is. I look forward to hearing from you at volunteering@cavaliers.org.

Thanks.

Volunteer Coordinator

Driving

Do you have a Commercial Drivers License? Do you have a passenger endorsement? We’re always looking for drivers for our "big rigs". Don't have a CDL, but are interested in driving? We do need drivers for smaller trucks and a van.

Kitchen

Can you slice, dice, dish out food, and clean up after meals? We feed the boys and staff 3 healthy meals a day, and snacks. No knowledge of cooking is necessary. You just need to be part of the team and dig in.

Uniform Care

Can you mend rips or tears; have basic sewing skills? The uniforms take a pounding and need repairs every now and then. Laundry is done during rehearsal days and only takes a couple of hours. Laundry is a perfect way to contribute if you can't tour and we're in your area on laundry day. The laundry days will be posted on the website (in the main forum) as we near the season.

Cavalier Promotions Inc. (T-shirts and souvenirs)

Do you like talking to people? Have you been told that when you're around the conversation is never lacking? Then this is for you! Selling souvenirs is a very important part of The Cavaliers. CPI (Cavalier Promotions, Inc.) provides a part of the financial support for the corps. CPI sets up before the show and stays up until after the show.

Medical Personnel

Are you in the medical field? Medical personnel are needed to ensure the physical well being of the members, staff, and volunteers.
