Daniel Belcher

Daniel Belcher has been a respected leader within the drum corps community since 2019. After marching for four years with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, the Blue Knights hired Daniel to serve as their Director of Member Experience, where he worked to create the most positive environment possible for marching members. Daniel's proven abilities propelled him through the ranks, culminating in his appointment as Assistant Director and, ultimately, as the Director during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Under Daniel's guidance and leadership, the Blue Knights navigated summer tour during the Covid-19 pandemic, secured integral new partnerships with industry vendors, and regained a spot in DCI Finals in 2023. During this time, Daniel additionally served on the Membership Affairs Committee for Drum Corps International, and was an instructor for DCI’s annual drum major seminar. He co-authored the DCI Prop Safety Checklist in use by DCI today.

Daniel’s marching experience includes four years as drum major with the Blue Knights from 2016-2019. In 2019 he was Blue Knight of the Year, and he also became the inaugural recipient of the Don Warren Memorial Scholarship, a testament to his outstanding contributions and commitment to the activity. In addition to DCI, Daniel participated in the first four years of WGI Winds marching with Rhythm X, serving as their first horn sergeant and taking home three world class championships. He has taught several high school marching bands including Kettering Fairmont, Lakota East, and Milford High Schools in Ohio, as well as Air Academy High School in Colorado. He has served as a guest clinician for numerous bands across the country.

Daniel Belcher is a graduate of Concordia University in Montréal, Québec, holding a degree in Electrical Engineering. During his tenure at Concordia, Daniel took on the role of the electrical engineering lead for the school's satellite project, a collaborative effort with the Canadian Space Agency. The satellite was successfully launched to the ISS and deployed into orbit in 2023.

Daniel grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and currently resides in Denver, Colorado with his partner Marie and their dog Scout.
