Tristan Bartley

Tristan Bartley is currently in his first year as the head band director at Spring Hill High School in Spring Hill, Kansas. Before Spring Hill, Tristan was the Director of Bands at McLouth USD 342 in McLouth, Kansas for five years. Under his direction, the McLouth marching band won back to back Kansas Bandmasters Association Small School Marching Band Championships. 

Tristan holds a bachelor's degree in music education with an emphasis in horn and masters degree in music education with an emphasis in conducting from The University of Kansas. During his undergraduate studies at KU, he was a member and two-year drum major of the Marching Jayhawks. Tristan was a four-year member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, where he was named 2011 Visual Rookie of the Year and 2014 Visual Member of the Year. 

Tristan currently plays with the Crossroad Winds Symphony and is a regular substitute for the Topeka Symphony. Tristan has been the recipient of the Kansas Horizon Award for new teachers in 2019, the Northeast KMEA Young Band Director Award in 2020, and the Kansas Bandmasters Young Director Award in 2023.
